Spanish retail giant Zara is launching their makeup line on May 12th, making it a one-stop shop for your beauty and style needs.
Zara Beauty is curated by the illustrious Diane Kendal. A hugely successful makeup artist, she is a firm favorite of designers such as Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford and is regularly backstage at fashion shows creating unforgettable editorials and runway looks.
When asked about the vision for the line, Kendal muses ‘When Zara approached me to lead the creative direction of Zara Beauty, I saw an opportunity to make something that everyone would want to use. Zara has always reached such a diverse audience, and I wanted to bring that same big vision to beauty with a collection that is clean, refillable, and accessible to all.”
This is certainly true. There are a whopping 130 colours in the line covering lips, eyes, face and nail polishes. Not only is there something for everyone, but by customer request, Kendal has made the range cruelty-free and refillable (very important when considering Zara’s huge global footprint). While prices range from around £5.99 to £17.99, refills are considerably less, marking a particularly affordable price point. Better yet, the packaging is a black and white architectural-esque vibe, with a slight slant inspired by the ‘Z’ in Zara. Very stylish.
To showcase the multitude of looks achievable with Zara Beauty, Kendal has brought together the creative visions of nine different photographers – Craig McDean, David Sims, Fabien Baron, Marilyn Minter, Mario Sorrenti, Nadine Ijewere, Oliver Hadlee Pearch, Steven Meisel, and Zoë Ghertner. Each campaign is mood-board-worthy, with the different talents sharing their vision for the range.
These images make us truly excited for a makeup bag overhaul, and our fingers will be poised over the “add to cart” button on May 12th.
