Having started her nail tech career as a hobby in the midst of lockdown, it’s impressive when you see how far Saskia’s business, Suki Nailz, has come. The London-based manicurist has worked for major fashion powerhouses like Gucci, has been featured in Vogue and worked with some of the best photographers out there. Fresh out of university and having lost her job (thanks, Coronavirus) Saskia and her friend found their calling in nail art and tooth gems, and the rest is history.
A huge influence for Suki Nailz is the 90’s rave scene. Through the illegal London raves she attended at 15, she met the owners of Wavy Garms – Andres Branco and Rhiannon Isobel – who consequently introduced her to the fashion scene. Musing how she was “completely obsessed with the old Moschino prints, Versace and all that ” she delved into photography that enveloped rave culture. Other influences include her painting background (a fine art student) and her best friend and business partner, Niamh. The other half of the Suki brand, @sukiiice will kit you out with tooth gems.
Suki gives Voir’s readers an exclusive tutorial on how to recreate her trending Croc nails – check it out now.
