Striking a number of sensual poses in a headwrap, the billionaire businesswomen, RiRi, took to her official social media accounts to share the great news with her fans this Tuesday.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment! We coming at ya May 27th and that’s just the beginning!” shares the artist who is one step closer to world domination with her line of makeup and skincare products.
The official Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin Instagram account also shared the announcement in a joint post, writing: “The wait is finally OVA!!!”
“AFRICA – we pullin up!” the message continued. “Who ready?! We’ve been workin hard to make this happen! We’ll be available in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Namibia, Botswana, Ghana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe local retailers starting MAY 27!”
Fenty’s expansion to Africa will allow the African population to have access to a wider range of shades, yet again raising the question of the continent’s inclusivity in the beauty and fashion market. The world’s second-largest continent and home to more than a billion people has for too often been spared from the industry’s biggest launches. Rihanna’s line is the latest brand to tackle this discrepancy, and continues her mission to make products available for people with all skin tones, advocating for diversity, inclusion, and representation.
“I am a proud Bajan who also feels a close connection to Africa, and its people,” Rihanna says in a press release. “I’ve had the pleasure, and the privilege, to spend time on the continent and those experiences never leave you. Now, being able to bring Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin to eight African countries and then hopefully more in the future — means so much to me.” She declared.
