Saved the date but need an outfit? Dance the night away in feathered hems, sheer detailing, monochromatic pieces. Traditionally, for an autumn wedding, one often goes with the colours of the season but, there is no rule that you have to rely on only amber and golden hues. So, why not opt for something a little unique? A structured blazer or long silk dress could both be options, it’s just how you interpret them. Here’s some inspiration from past fashion weeks.

There is something different about a dress that is quietly romantic. This flowing dress is the work of Maria Grazia Chiuri from Dior’s Fall 22/23 collection, the ‘Tree of Life’, was an emblematic theme of this collection. The dress with its long silhouette and pleating has an almost earthy feel to it, it would be perfect for an Autumn wedding that is held outside.

Neutrals with a statement. In a rustic wedding, there are many natural and wooden elements, so you can play with textures and have a more relaxed atmosphere. The stunning piece was part of Jacquemus’ fall collection named ‘Le Papier’, which mainly incorporated whites and creams with linen dominating, making it blend beautifully into the scenery.
Eckhaus Latta

In Eckhaus Latta’s collection, sheer, glittery knits were fused with sheer, silk blouses and dresses, some with slashes and others with slits that exposed some skin. This low-cut dress makes for an edgy and sultry look and you are sure to stand out bright in this metallic shine.

For the little more adventurous women out there, turn heads in this wild interpretation of the classic black dress. A heavily embroidered sheer gowns with accordion pleats is a stunning piece of attire for evening wear. As the designer said himself this dress fits “strong women, strong characters, a little rock ‘n’ roll.”

Lingerie dressing drifts in and out of fashion according to how the pendulum swings. However, the real trick is making boudoir pieces feel subtly seductive rather than overtly sexual. Paper-thin chiffon dresses can be worn for a fall garden wedding- the trick is layering. Wedding guest chiffon dresses are complete with plush fabrics in macaron pastels: gloves, furry coats, and shawls.
Balmain

Balmain demonstrates that combining masculine structured and fitted garments with contrasting soft and feminine articles creates a beautiful dichotomy. The pastel colours of this ensemble are suitable for a wedding any season and the detailing of the skirt adds drama into the otherwise soft and elegant look.

Ethereal beauty comes to mind in the designs of Jason Wu. This classy gown with a bow top and rushing falling down is a silhouette that evokes the expressive volume of the 1950’s. This enchanting dress is best worn with minimal accessorising and a soft make-up look.
