Best-Dressed List: Critic’s Choice Awards

On the 15th of January, 2024 with the commencement of Hollywood’s awards season, the Critic’s Choice Awards were held in sunny Santa Monica. The winners of the night include Elizabeth Debicki for The Crown, Emma Stone for Poor Things and Sarah Snook for Succession. A glance at the red carpet, and many could sense a theme of red and black which overpowered with star-power like Margot Robbie, Dua Lipa and Charles Melton engaging in an accidental theme. However, it was also a night full of incredible fashion from movie stars, television stars and musicians alike, kicking off the fashion for the year in the right direction. It was a great moment for style and here are our picks for the best-dressed attendees.

Dua Lipa

The singer-songwriter dazzled in this gorgeous ruffled, cherry red gown by Prada. Lipa was accessorized by Tiffany&Co. and styled by Lorenzo Posocco. Dua opted to let the gown shine with minimal jewellery apart from the gorgeous and ornamental studs by Tiffany. The silhouette was a dream and the colour and hair were her moment.

The actress best known for her role in Past lives wore a Jonathan Anderson, Loewe look that was simple, cool and elegant. The co-ord set comprising of a high-neck polo and loose pants embellished with black sequins and minimal jewellery was a breath of fresh air amidst the quintessential Hollywood glam. Lee paired the look with black pumps, slicked back hair and minimal makeup closing out the look.

The American actress and television writer best known for her role in The Bear was dressed in The Row. The actress posted on Instagram giving us all look at her inspiration for the look, Whoopi Goldberg. She channels Goldberg’s effortless, androgynous, 90s style with a masculine cut, baggy, white suit and minimal make-up. Edebiri completes the look with black pumps and sunglasses.

The quilted argyle pattern with the embellished buttons that line along the mini with the pink “tinsel” border was such a pop of colour. Madekwe paired the look with soft make-up, diamond studs to match the buttons and a low bun.
