Exploring Black Identity in Fashion: BFC Fashion Forum’s Latest Podcast Episode

The British Fashion Council (BFC) is releasing its latest episode of the BFC Fashion Forum podcast, titled ‘Fashion Identity.’ The episode features photographer Campbell Addy, designer Tolu Coker, and model James Corbin to deliberate the importance of the exploration of individuality through cultural experiences that are shared and talked about. This discussion will mainly focus on the pressures that come with being Black in the fashion industry. Talking about their own experiences, they will be drawing on this and highlighting the significance of remaining authentic in the face of criticism.

The BFC Fashion Forum podcast aims to use season 5 to impart knowledge and give the opportunity to explore topics that are affecting the creative industries and future of the fashion industry. Previous episodes have included Kirsty McGregor, Stefano Martinetto, and Stavros Karelis who discussed the implications of Brexit on the British fashion industry and what this may mean for our cultural and socio-economic structure. Other guests also included designer Jawara Alleyne and writer/cultural communications thought leader Yasmin Jones-Henry who conversed about indigenous design techniques and sustainable branding.

The latest episode is the fourth of six episodes in season five, featuring more guests like Karoline Vitto, Lovelle, Tora Northman, and Victoria Jenkins.
