Captured in a dreamy aesthetic, set in the warm hue of a spring day, Chloé’s Spring/Summer 18 campaign video has us thinking of the season ahead.
Directed by the artistic Steven Meisel, the short film provides glimpses of women moving around street steps, over the course of seven takes. With unscripted movements, the designer clothing moves freely, adding to the dreamy feel.
Creative Director Natasha Ramsay-Levi has perfected the feminine look of Chloé in her debut collection, however adding an edge with python boots and velvet suits.
Each take of the film focuses on certain elements, providing closer inspection into the fashion and accessories being worn. Meisel cleverly reinforces the Chloé look with static elements whilst the women move freely around, without distraction. This attention to detail reflects that of the designs, and creates an overall feeling that the camera is a passer-by. The film has a 1960s New Wave feel to it, and is shot with the absence of sound.
The fluidity and confidence present in the film, is also present in the clothing, therefore truly capturing Natasha Ramsay-Levi S/S18 vision.
