The mother of all music festivals is fast approaching this weekend, but the question on everyone’s mind is what are the predicted fashion trends that will be featuring widely on Instagram.
Forget the overdone “boho” look this season, people are tired of seeing the same flower crown, crochet top and worn in denim shorts. This year is about revamping so watch out for looks straight off the runway with a focus on 90s accessories and bold bright colours drenched in sequins. Of course, the classic Coachella vibe will still be at the heart of the looks but with a more playful, expressive twist.
People are influenced by so many different festivals globally now online. The flower power look has well and truly moved on and now to get that pause and double take when scrolling online, the more unique the better. Embellished camouflage print with DIY details, customised statement denim and personalised vintage pieces are what are likely to stand out in an overcrowded swamp of selfies.
Everyone wants to stand out from the crowd and look as on-trend as possible, but realistically when walking miles in the desert you’re going to want to be practical. This is when the chunky trainers and vibrant anoraks are bridging the gap between fashion and function.

This year, metallic rings offer the updated version of the basic French braid and space buns. They have already been spotted on everyone from Arianna Grande to Shay Mitchell so will be making many appearances this music festival season.
Back in 2017, festivalgoers took the glitter trend to the extreme, submerging their body top to bottom in sparkles. However, this year the trend takes a subtler approach, with lots of wet finish beauty products on the market including Glossier’s Lidstar and Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Body Lava.
Last but most definitely not least is the trend we’ve been seeing everywhere from Fenty x Puma to Gucci and is this festival seasons most wanted item. Belt bags are coming straight from the catwalks right into the desert, offering a hands-free alternative to fully immerse yourself in the music festival experience.
