The Off-White™ designer takes on modern day home furnishings and we are all curious about what this unusual paring will bring to the table. Virgil Abloh is not only a fashion designer, creative director to Kanye West, founder of “haute streetwear” label Off-White and artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton, he is also surprisingly trained in architecture.
Official teasers have dropped with many previews on social media, revealing the name of the “MARKERAD” product line. The collection targets the millennial generation, featuring the instantly-recognisable labelling found on Off-White™ branding. Ikea says on their website “together, IKEA and OFF-WHITE look for ways to help create a home for millennials who are just starting out their lives.”
However, products on display are still currently in the prototype stage and Virgil has said he is waiting to take his designs further with mentions of incorporating acrylic material into the products.
Other information about the collaboration is still confidential and it doesn’t seem like this partnership will be hitting the stores until 2019, until then these are the sneak peaks we can give you.
