Karl Lagerfeld has no limits when it comes to inventiveness and creativity. Last night he took to the sea and created a marina within the Grand Palais in Paris, topped with an actual-sized cruise-ship named La Pausa after Coco Chanel’s villa in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.
With everyone having high expectations following his previous themed collections at Chanel, Lagerfeld did not disappoint. Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Stella Maxwell and Adut Akech were all decked out in French sailor inspired clothing in white tights, berets and striped trousers. Other A-listers such as Lily-Rose Depp and Kristen Stewart were taking in the sights from front row.
The collection reflects on Coco Chanel’s life, when she would need a break from the fast-paced fashion world of Paris, she would relax on glamourous yachting trips throughout Europe.
This has to be one of the most extravagant sets Chanel have ever done. A 330-foot-long ocean liner with thousands of romantic lights surrounding it was a stunning spectacle. All we want to know is when can we hop on board?
