The sacred Oscars of fashion blessed the red carpet once again with this year’s theme being “Heavenly Bodies, Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” We saw plenty religious iconography including statement crosses, rosaries and worship worthy halo head pieces. Here is our most righteously dressed so take a look at what happens what you mix religion and controversial fashion.

Cardi B wears pregnancy just as well as the virgin Mary right? Although, not quite as pure, she’s taken her Sunday best to the extreme. Dressed in a gem-encrusted Moschino gown by Jeremy Scott, she shows off her voluptuous figure that stunned the red carpet.

Zendaya channels Joan of Arch, killing it in masculine armour and platform heels to embody the strong woman that she is. The Versace chainmail dress was studded with tiny sequins and even came complete with metalwork shoulders and a dramatic train ready for battle.

SZA was like an angel that was sent from above. She stunned us in her blush pink tulle Versace gown that was paired with an actual halo with little stars that extended toward the heavens.

In case you missed it (which you won’t) Rihanna dressed as the actual Pope but made it fierce. It was the look that everyone was talking about, taking the theme to a whole new level with John Galliano’s extreme design and a cream bejewelled gown from Maison Margiela. Rihanna, you’ve done it again.
