New York Fashion Week A/W 19
With only three weeks worth of preparation, and help from some of the most influential people in fashion, Tokyo-based designer Tomo Koizumi pulled off one of the most iconic fashion week debuts in history.
Discovered on Instagram by Katie Grand (Editor-in-Chief of Love Magazine) back in January, she has helped him to pull together the New York Fashion Week show of shows, going viral on all social media platforms thanks to a little help from Pat McGrath, Guido Palau and Marc Jacobs to name a few.
The show was held on the lower level of Jacobs’ Madison Avenue store, and featured models Bella Hadid, Joan Smalls, Taylor Hill & Emily Ratajkowski in various rainbow-hue tulle creations, that looked as though they’d floated in from some stylish toddler’s tea-party.
Gwendoline Christie closed the show in a magnificent gown compromised of 200m of Japanese polyester organza, resulting in actual screams of ecstasy from the audience.
If anyone has earned the title of ‘one to watch’ it’s Tomo Koizumi.
