When a sexual scandal burst into the privileged world of British members of parliament, the notoriety of James Waterhouse is threatened. His extramarital relationship with his assistant is revealed in the media, as the young woman accuses him of rape and the scandal breaks. But, the series is mainly interested in another woman: Sophie Whitehouse, played by Sienna Miller, a model wife and collateral victim of the actions of a husband she supports, at least in appearance.
