A Night Of Powerful Femininity And Unforgettable Moments At Nathy Peluso’s GRASA Tour

Una Noche de feminidad poderosa y GRASA con Nathy Peluso

London was left in an uproar of song, dance and raw emotion as Nathy Peluso performed her latest album, GRASA, at Roundhouse Camden, last night. Having rapidly risen to fame with her first album and worldwide tour, Calambre in 2020, the Argentine-Spanish singer returned to London with a second studio album tour, GRASA

The atmosphere was electric as the crowd danced to an array of salsa and alternative Latin music, getting ready for a dynamic and animated live performance. The crowd chanted “Nathy” whilst the band prepared their positions, and as the lights came down, Nathy appeared centre stage. Starting her show with ‘CORLEONE’, Nathy wore head to toe Marine Serre, rocking their crimson red leggings, a graphic T-shirt and red mesh bodysuit, polished with black knee-high boots.

GRASA, debuted last May 2024, was released with the intention to show a more intimate side of Nathy, sharing that the album was about learning to love yourself and knowing your worth. Being four years since her last album, Peluso felt her life had changed significantly and used GRASA to deal with her emotions privately, all the while creating an artform that she could share with her fans. Learning from the successes and navigating the challenges, Nathy’s most authentic album to date was formed, self-directed and produced alongside artists Manu Lara, Didi Goodman and Rafael Cauta.

Appearing on stage with a white flag, printed with her album title, GRASA, Nathy sang ‘LA MENTIRA’, a single that is a critique of modern society’s superficiality. Symbolising a ceasefire with society’s falsehood, Nathy waves the flag back and forth as she raps about a world where authenticity is attacked.

Nominated for Grammy’s Best Latin Rock and Alternative Album, GRASA shows a diverse range of technical skills, amalgamating authentic Salsa melodies with underground Rap. Getting the crowd off their seats and singing with once-considered strangers, Nathy performed fan favourites, ‘TODO ROTO’ featuring CA7RIEL and ‘MANHATTAN’ with Duki, showcasing artist collaborations chosen intentionally by Nathy for their personal tone, attitude and creativity.

Effortlessly engaging with her audience in every song, Nathy takes a moment to sit down and impart wisdom. Acknowledging her sold out venue that is bursting at the seams with cheer and excitement, Nathy gives her crowd a special message on gut feelings; that “in these hard times, you must always listen to the signs and connect”, before singing with pure vocals, ‘EL DíA QUE PERDÍ MI JUVENTUD’.

Having chosen the title post album-creation, Nathy aimed to find a phrase matching her hard work in creating this uniquely blended album. ‘Grasa’, a Spanish phrase of several meanings – most associated with negative connotations such as ‘vulgar’ or ‘tacky’ – also means greasy or oily, to which Peluso often recounted her father coming home from a day’s hard work at a gas station with dirty and greasy hands. Nathy chose to redefine GRASA as tough, strong and hard – a description of how she worked tirelessly to overcome struggles and navigate hardships.

Nathy ended the show with the much-loved singles, ‘VIVIR ASÍ ES MORIR DE AMOR’ and ‘REMEDIO’; the perfect way to fill the venue with an overwhelming sense of love and gratitude. A standing ovation followed as Nathy gave endless thanks and blessings to her fans who travelled far to experience pure energy and a superlative performance from one of our favourite Latin singers.

GRASA is an ode to Nathy’s effortless musical fluidity and outstanding artistry.
