Brazilian pop sensation Anitta is bringing the heat with her latest track ‘Faking Love’. The song brings a tropical Caribbean beat to life whilst Anitta puts forward candid lyricism based around the concept of faking feelings and love in a relationship. This sassy vibe is further accentuated by Saweetie as she delivers a slick verse bursting with double entendres and a fierce attitude.
This release comes after a year of success for Anitta, having recently made history as the first Brazilian artist to perform at the MTV VMAs, and dominating the spotlight during Billboard’s Latin music week. 2021 has also seen Anitta make her debut on the top 40 in the US with ‘Girl From Rio’, a track that is currently sitting at over 100 million total streams.
With the success of this year, and Anitta finding her feet with releasing music in English, it seems like the perfect time to start teasing an album release, and we can expect this during the next few months as Anitta is currently putting the finishing touches on her debut album for Warner Records.
‘Faking Love’ saw Anitta join forces with Los Angeles-based director duo Bradley & Pablo, resulting in a cheeky and stylistic music video. The video further explores Anitta’s performance skills, as she executes a polished dance routine staying perfectly aligned with the fast-paced tropical beat. Another video highlight is seeing Anitta and Saweetie together in person, bringing their fiery collab to life.
