Billie Eilish has knocked it out of the park, yet again. Sporting not one, not two but three of summer’s biggest hair trends, she is truly leading the stylistic charge – combining the wolf haircut and fluffy waft fringe in reel blonde, Billie is looking better than ever.
So what exactly is a waft haircut? Inspired by the ’70s, it is a half-fringe that hangs like curtains and flicks out in true Farrah Fawcett fashion. If you’re too intimidated by a normal fringe (there’s always the fear of channeling Velma from Scooby-Doo) or even if you’re just growing out of the lockdown fringe this is a great option to try. Super versatile and suits most face shapes, you can’t go wrong.
Anyway, back to Billie. Her hair is seen fluffy and full (minus the iconic flick) which gives the hairstyle a grungy edge. If you’re pining for a change and want to try the Jenna Coleman and Lizzo approved hairstyle, you’re going to need a good hairdresser and some volume-inducing products. We’d recommend a texturizing spray like the ones from Ouai Haircare.
The blonde waft is a huge change from her signature middle-parted black and green locks and it must have been a misson going from such a colour disparity to achieve the platinum shade. Answering a Q&A on Instagram the ‘bad guy’ singer confessed that the change took ‘six weeks to accomplish’ and her hair is feeling surprisingly healthy. We couldn’t rate her new look more.
