Khloe Kardashian’s fashion brand, Good American, is launching a swimwear collection with iconic brand Body Glove. Available June 15th, the collection reimagines iconic 80s silhouettes in new colours and styles to suit everyone.

Good American was founded in 2016 by Emma Grede and Khloe Kardashian with a focus on empowering women with comfy and practical items with a commitment to inclusivity and body positivity, coming in sizes 00-24. Every product is shown with three models of different sizes, so customers can picture themselves in the clothing, and the brand hosts open castings and uses influencers like Mahala Preudhomme, Nadia Aboulhosn, and Denise Mercedes.

Body Glove is a household name and has been selling swimwear for over 70 years. Founded in 1953 with the phrase ‘fits like a glove’, co-founders Bill and Bob created the first practical wetsuits using neoprene in an attempt to combat the cold California water when surfing. Body Glove now sells wetsuits, swimsuits, clothing, shoes, sunglasses, water sports equipment, and accessories and mainly uses pro surfers and wakeboarders as influencers.

The Kardashians have been seen wearing Body Glove many times, like Kim’s silver bikini in Tahiti, but most memorable is Kris Jenner’s 80s swimsuit being stolen by her daughter, Kylie Jenner.

The collaboration involved drawing inspiration from the Body Glove archives and re-engineering the classic Body Glove silhouettes to cater to a wider size range, with items being sold in sizes XS-5XL plus. The pieces range from high-leg one-pieces, swim skirts, biker shorts, zip-up bikini tops, long sleeves, halter neck tops, and classic bikini sets. The styles were also altered to ensure they enhanced curves and gave the signature Kardashian hourglass shape, flattering all body types. Another big change was the colour scheme, with bright fuchsia and shimmering gold being the focus of the collection. With details like black panelling and zippers being maintained, this collection is making us want to run along a beach to the Baywatch theme song!
