Teyana Taylor surprises us once again with a self-directed music video with music legend Elton John.
Part of her latest LP The Album, ́Lose Each Other ́ is about the time after a breakup. Teyana talks about maintaining a friendship bond despite having a love ending. It teaches us from a wounded heart that there is much beyond that, that there is always love and appreciation for the family of the other, for the beautiful memories and without a doubt affection for what was.
“We don’t have to lose each other, I’m the only one that knows ya, What am I supposed to do if I can’t hit you when I need you ?, Just cause I can’t handle love don’t Mean I wanna leave you”.

With the participation of a duo of dancers, the 2020 BET Video Director of the Year supports the lyrics and through their expressions and with an artistic dance teaches us the journey of a relationship from beginning to end and closes with the hope that there is no why mark an final point. “As a director, I wanted the imagery to be simple, yet powerful, which is why I choose an all-white background and bold looks. I wanted my audience to understand how love’s hardships can also be beautiful. ”, Teyana testified to Rolling Stones.
She surprises us with the opening of the video by Elton John in a dark suit, who plays the black grand piano under against the white backdrop with clean, slow and romantic notes, entering himself into the melancholic and romantic atmosphere of the melody. “I told my team,‘ You know what would be dope? If I could have Elton John open the video on the piano… So as we were working through treatment ideas and solidifying logistics for the video, an international phone number calls me…. and for a second I almost didn’t answer, but my intuition spoke, I answered. All I hear is… ’Hello darling, it’s Elton. I’d love to do your video! ’I freaked out!”, Said the artist to R.S.
In an artistic way, Teyana is presented with angel wings, proudly showing her baby bump in a black outfit and seductive to the figure. Whether it is a maxi puff jacket, with an electric guitar complete with a fringed leather jacket, or as an iconic artistic sculpture, Teyana shows us the beauty of love and feelings and without a doubt, the mixture of these two artists adds a sophisticated touch and unmatched to the song and video clip.
