Wouldn’t skincare be so easy if we all had our own treatment plans and experts to guide us through our common skin problems? Well, yes. Better still the new site GetHarley will connect you to the world-renowned skincare professionals from the comfort of your bedroom.
Launched in 2019, founder Charmaine Chow hit her thirties and vowed to change from a soap and water kind of girl to taking better care of her skin, especially to address stubborn breakouts. Overwhelmed by so many options, dermatologists and clinics that promised to help, she had a lightbulb moment to set up easy skincare. Speaking to Vogue, Chow explained:
“If I want clothes, I go on Net-a-Porter and a dress appears in my house within 12 hours because I pay for premium delivery – if I don’t like it, it gets picked up. If I need some styling advice, I text my stylist there. And then if I want groceries or books, it’s on Kindle via Amazon or WholeFoods. I’m used to having good service in other parts of my consumer life, which is why I wanted to create the same thing in the skincare space.”
Thus the birth of GetHarley. Essentially speed dating for skincare, GetHarley can have you booked in with the capital’s most in-demand experts within a matter of days: no easy feat, especially when you consider the wait times going through the traditional method.
How does it work? Simply fill out a form with your skin concerns, upload a few photos and be personally connected with an expert specializing in your specific issue. The first 30-minute session is charged at £30 – a steal considering normally you’d pay twice the price. Practitioners will then be able to dispense pharmaceutical products which you’ll be able to order through the website with no annoying subscription to commit to. They’ll even WhatsApp you (if you wish) specific usage instructions, check-in, and follow up with progress. We call that going above and beyond.
So, if you’re a busy woman, this is perfect for healthy skin without the hassle.
