The news we’ve all been waiting to hear: Gigi Hadid will create her own fashion line.
Despite being booked and busy in the fashion industry, the supermodel is applying her expertise to her new clothing line, ‘Guest in Residence’.
In an Instagram post on August 4th, the model teased that she was working on something new by sharing pictures of the behind-the-scenes process for her new knitwear label alongside the message “been working on something …. with love, @guestinresidence”.
Her announcement comes after she was recently pictured walking around New York City in a modern interpretation of skater girl fashion. Her outfit featured ripped jeans, Converse sneakers, and a knitted vest- whose designer is still unknown. Could this be the first glimpse of the upcoming collection?
The model shared photos of her looking at fabric swatches in various colours and mock-ups of possible designs. In the little glimpse we got, the tones are certainly hinting at an autumnal vibe. Additionally, Fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and knitwear expert CJ Kim were also tagged in images that teased the upcoming products with stacks of clothes folded near a window.
Creatures of Comfort
It seems that Gigi is embracing elegant knitwear. A soft collection of separates and knits is shown, made from wools and cashmere yarns. The pieces are definitely putting rest and relaxation front and centre. Gigi served as her label’s own model posing in a canary yellow long-sleeve sweater and a relaxed fitted pyjama set.
Her bio has been updated to highlight her new titles as “founder, creative director” of Guest in Residence.
Even though Gigi Hadid is already an expert in the fashion industry, she can also turn to her older sister for advice. Recently, Alana opened up about her summer clothing line, La Detresse, in an interview with E! News.
Currently, it is unknown when Gigi Hadid’s new label will launch, but we can expect a fall/winter launch.
