Yesterday, Kim Kardashian announced on Instagram, SKIMS’ new collaboration with FENDI. After much speculation, the international sensation shared a series of snaps modelling a pair of panties, tights and a matching bra in a sheer fabric with the FENDI logo, giving it all away. According to Fendi “the capsule collection unites the aesthetic codes of the respective brands to create a capsule wardrobe for the modern woman”.
In addition to SKIMS’s signature curve-hugging bodysuits and shapewear, the collection includes apparel, swimwear, lingerie, hosiery and even puffer jackets. Designed in different nuances –– nude, purple, black and white – the capsule features a new custom monogram SKIMS x FENDI print. All products are largely minimalist and monochromatic and of course stick perfectly to the silhouette.
“FENDI and SKIMS have a cultural power very different from each other, but equally as strong. We share a desire to push boundaries and challenge convention which is how we found so much common ground collaborating” shared Kim Kardashian about the new collaboration.
The idea for the partnership came to Fendi when Kim Jones, the creative director of womenswear at the fashion house, when he overheard the women in his offices talking about SKIMS. The designer met Kim Kardashian in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in March to work on the project and finalise it.
The most hyped look of the collection was Kim’s dress posted by Fendi – a sleeveless leather dress with a small, draped detail around the bust. This comes in a gradient flesh tone ranging from light to dark.
“From active wear and beachwear to elevated essentials and coordinating accessories, the FENDI x SKIMS capsule collection reflects the eclectic tastes and lifestyle of today’s daring and dynamic women” shared Fendi last night.
