The Golden Globes returned last night to not only celebrate the amazing talent in the film and television industry but to also celebrate its 80th anniversary. Spanning back to the first awards in 1944, legends who have graced worldwide cinema screens such as Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe are among iconic winners. This year there was no exception to the annually filled rows of gifted actors and actresses.
Don’t worry, even with all the amazing films and series to distract us we are not forgetting about the F-word. Our fashion favourites of the night are:
Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez wore a gorgeous strapless Valentino Haut Couture gown. The column dress was black velvet while the huge puffed sleeves were a dark maroon which featured long trains. Simple black platforms from Santoni only elevate the look as they peak through the slit of the dress. Statement sleeves are getting a big yes from us.
Liza Koshy
We did warn you, black lace is a big trend for 2023. A force to get involved with as it sweeps everyone off their feet. Koshy jumped on the gothcore trend in a stunning Morphew Atelier gown.
Letitia Wright
The Black Panther star looked phenomenal in a Prada gown. The bronzed orange sunset colour popped and partnered well with orange stilettos. A look to remember, while also showing us how simplicity does not mean simple impacts.
Lily James
The actress nailed the role of Pamela Anderson in Pam and Tommy, and now she has nailed a look at the Golden Globes. A red floor-length Atelier Versace gown which could not go unmissed. Once again showing cut-outs are here, they have pitched a tent, and they are going nowhere!
Rihanna
Nominated for Best Original Song last night, Rihanna has made our list. Duh! Have you seen the Schiaparelli she wore! The black ballgown is the Hollywood Glamour we were wishing to see and we are happier Rihanna could be the one to show us.
MJ Rodriguez
MJ Rodriguez could totally convince us she belongs in the monarchy with that Royal blue Balmain dress. The dress was strapless with a corseted bodice and it looked incredible. Golden pointed Christian Louboutins to seal the deal.
Jessica Chastain
When we said cobwebs were in for 2023, we were not kidding. Chastain wore an Oscar De La Renta which was sheer and jewel embellished. She not only delivered this year, she did the full goddamn paper round.
Billy Porter
The iconic tuxedo gown of the 2019 Oscars, but this time with a 2023 twist, it was fuchsia! Custom Christian Siriano and custom iconic. The style icon that is Billy Porter gets 10/10 for this look.
Jeremy Pope
Love it. Jeremy Pope served us an incredibly stylish full-black fit at the awards. The Inspection star knows how to dress and we are here for it. The Dolce and Gabbana fit is sure to be a memorable outfit for years to come.
Anya Taylor-Joy
Mellow in yellow is not the case for Taylor-Joy’s Golden Globes look. She looked stunning and elegant as the pale yellow Dior two-piece hugs her figure. Iced out in some Tiffany and Co jewellery, how could you fault this look?
Amelia Dimoldenberg
High-slit and bodice cut-outs. It is a stunning floor-length number which Dimoldenberg appeared in last night. The beige dress chosen partnered amazingly with her auburn hair.
Jenna Ortega
Ortega is a rising star to watch and has also been becoming a fashion icon. She was a Gucci dream come true last night in the beige draped gown. The look captured some of the main trends of the time, you have probably guessed it, cuts-outs and sheer!
Heidi Klum
It was sparkles and feathers for Heidi Klum last night. The supermodel wore a Kevin Germanier design which was eye-catching and iconic. Welcome to the list Heidi.
