Louis Vuitton’s newest fragrance dubbed ‘Les Extraits’ is dropping soon, and the beautiful bottle has been designed by none other than luxury architect Frank Gehry.
It’s not often that architects grow to be household names, but Gehry has made it. His buildings are world attractions – he boasts the iconic Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (which Philip Johnson called ‘the greatest building of our time’) and the Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris in his roaster. Proving time and time again he is a force of design nature, he’s now announced an exciting new collab with Louis Vuitton, in which he has designed 5 spectacular bottles.
Each bottle is topped with a three-dimensional silver-colored sculptural work reminiscent of wind moving through and swirling a silver sheath. “My ambition was to reinvent the Extrait de parfum of the 21st century, bringing newness and new emotions without having any connections with the existing fragrances at Louis Vuitton and by breaking the rules,” explained Cavallier Belletrud, during a press conference held in Paris on Monday.
The house’s master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud has formulated the scents. There’s ‘Cosmic Cloud’ which boasts a powdery and fruity musk aroma, ‘Dancing Blossom is a flowery unisex scent, ‘Stellar Times’ is a more deep, woody fragrance, ‘Rhapsody’ is another fresh scent containing yerba and lily of the valley and lastly, ‘Symphony’ has more of a ginger and grapefruit zest scent.
The “Les Extraits” collection will be available soon via Louis Vuitton stores.
