She began the interview over Zoom, looking absolutely stunning with her bouncing black hair and makeup-free face. Her natural beauty emanated through the screen, as she immediately went into discussing doing a personal reading for me. She truly is an empath, explaining feelings and small details about my life that no one but a psychic could have known! Her ability to tune into your character, whilst also explaining the future she sees for you is incredible. Serena looked me in the eye with her piercing grey eyes and said, “What is the name of the male I keep seeing in your reading? I see a lot of dishonesty he’s just been overseas with another woman”. I was shell-shocked at this point! Serena was talking about a guy who was in my life who had been lying to me about another woman in his life. “I have so much to tell you girl you don’t even know the half.” Let’s put it this way, she gave me all the confirmation I needed. Deeper into the interview, we find that Serena’s journey into astrology began in her teenage years. Growing up in a family that respected both science and spirituality, she was always surrounded by spirituality.
I’d like to potentially talk a little bit more about your background, like when did you discover your gifts?
“I discovered I had this gift at the young age of 8 years old. I was very young, and this is something that I have so much experience with, like a lot of psychics or mediums that you come across, they don’t discover they have gifts until their teenage years – but I knew at the very young age of 8,” she recalls.
She explains that she is a fourth-generation psychic, with her great-grandmother, grandmother, and own mother all having the gift. Her involvement with the spirits did not deter her, however, from attempting to pursue other careers. She told us that she studied real estate, taking her exams, going to her classes, and pursuing that qualification – all while her gifts of clairvoyance, clairsentience, tarot, and spiritual empathy hung in the background. However, she explained that she always still felt a pull towards her gift and the spiritual world. Her qualification in real estate couldn’t keep her away from wanting to share her gift with others, as she says, “I love real estate, but I don’t know, something was telling me that I shouldn’t be doing this.”
You know when you said you discovered your gifts when you were like, 8 years old? So, fast-forward to you posting your first video. How did you blow up across socials? I can see you’ve got a great following on TikTok; how did this happen for you?
She reveals that it was her mother who prompted her success on social media, particularly TikTok and Instagram. She explained to us:
“She told me ‘You have to try putting yourself on Tik Tok, you have to share your gift.’ And I told her ‘Mom, I am not posting readings on Tik Tok. TikTok is for kids, are you crazy? I’m not doing that’ and she was like ‘No, I’m telling you. Post a video of yourself doing a collective reading and I promise you something good will come out of it. Okay?’She said, ‘I had a dream about you doing this, so you have to try it.’ So, I said ‘Okay, fine.’ She wouldn’t let me live that down, and she drove me insane. And it took me about a month to give in to her and do it. I do my first TikTok video, and I lay a bunch of cards out on the table, and I do a reading from what I feel in my heart. And I kid you not, the very first TikTok I posted got nearly a million views and I went viral overnight. It was overnight it happened; it was incredible. I was like ‘Wow, this is crazy.’ It’s amazing how God puts certain people in your life, and it’s like God gave that message to my mom to do what I do today, it’s incredible.”
After her first video was posted in 2022, Serena rose to fame almost overnight with her videos consistently getting hundreds of thousands or even millions of views. Her mass-reading of tarot-style videos inspired many other creators, particularly across TikTok. Many videos in the same style have been posted, raising questions about the realness and authenticity of those videos, as well as Serena’s own work. I hope this article can point anyone in the right direction, as my experience with her gift is first and foremost, authentic. How has this affected relationships in your life? Are people weary of you as you’ve come out as a psychic, or has it brought people closer to you?
“You know, it’s sad because there were people in my life who I thought would be part of my life for a very long time. I’m saying these are friends that I’ve known for 10 years plus, and it’s just like as you elevate as a person and as you change as a person, you lose a lot of friends. Unfortunately. The thing is a lot of people are on different levels of life. I’m gonna say this, people are weird. Some people are going to try to sabotage you for no reason, absolutely no reason. Some of those people can be close friends and people you just trusted with everything, but unfortunately, as you get older and you see people for what they truly are, you learn that you cannot trust everyone. I have a couple of really close people to me that always cheered me on.” I’ve met amazing people, especially these last 8 months at the most random places and times. It’s amazing how you can just click with someone and have similarities. It’s a feeling you cannot describe. Certain people are fated to be in your life. One thing I’ve learned however is to never force a connection. Whether it’s friends or love. If someone wants a bond with you it’ll naturally flow, you’ll feel it in your gut. You’ll just know. I’m a firm believer people should be direct with their intentions. Communication is key. If you feel something it’s for a reason. In certain situations I feel it’s ok to express what you feel, it drives me insane if someone shuts you out, etc. As an Aries like myself, I love direct people! God and the universe will bring you and the people you’re meant to be with at the right place and the right time. I have a couple of really close people to me that always cheered me on and supported me and I’m forever grateful.”
Her wise words of advice reflect an old head on young shoulders, as she thoughtfully reflects on how her new profession has affected her personal life. She talks about those she cherishes in her life with high regard, which is very much a reflection of her lovely and gentle demeanour. Her journey from realtor to a spiritual psychic is indeed a momentous one, and her future as a full-time spiritual guide is certain.
So, I’m guessing you do this full-time now? You know when you see all these bot accounts doing readings and stuff, and loads of people doing it, and you’re like ‘What’s authentic and what’s not here?’I just knew and I feel like I’m going to see you everywhere over the next few years, I think you’re going to go even bigger.
“I do. I do, it’s a full-time thing. You know, they do say, you’ve got to wake up every day loving what you do, and I finally understand it at 30. It’s fulfilling me, and it’s the most fulfilling thing to do and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I feel like this was just my calling. And thank you, you know, that means the world to me, it does. It truly does just mean so much.”
