Since 2018, when Casey Cadwallader took over Mugler as its newly appointed creative director, the fashion label has experienced a revival, becoming the ultimate celebrity go-to, plastered across the Instagram pages of our fashion-forward friends and desired by us at home. Adored by the likes of Kim Kardashian and Miley Cyrus, Mugler has always been praised for its daring designs and promotion of female empowerment, but the brand’s latest drop trumps anything they’ve ever done before.
To showcase the brand’s upcoming FW21 collection Casey Cadwallader brought an amalgamation of force, femininity, and acrobatics to the runway. Through a futuristically potent film, the collection is bought to life as models, including Amber Valletta and Jill Kortleve, can be seen to be thrown around, falling into, and shadowed, by figures masked in white, drawing all attention to the designs themselves. Bella Hadid also stars in the film, styled in a combination of strong and sexy pieces which effectively convey the message of the brand.
The collection unveiled ultimate power looks through a contrast of black colour blocking with bursts of neon, mesh detailing, and the brand’s illustrious structured garments, embellished with gold draping chains which elegantly hung to compliment and accentuate the female form in all its glory.
A sense of supremacy is enforced throughout the exhibit by dominating strides, intense stares and bold postures, highlighted in the film by the effects of slow-motion, zoom, and strobe lighting. Mugler FW21 is a collection for the modern woman, in celebration of power dressing.
The collection is available to shop now at fashion.mugler.com and you can watch the film here.
