Fashion icon and activist, Naomi Campbell, has launched a new web series on YouTube titled No Filter with Naomi.
The daily live-streamed and intimate show premiered on the platform on Monday, April the 6th with a special inaugural guest: fellow supermodel, Cindy Crawford. No Filter With Naomi will run for the next two weeks, streaming live at 8 pm (BST) from the supermodel’s channel with a range of surprise guests. The premise of the mini-series is to invite people to respect social distancing during this difficult time while discussing career experiences and moments between Naomi and a group of her lifetime friends — which includes designers, actors, fashion personalities and beauty gurus.

Campbell’s channel, ’Being Naomi’, officially debuted in late 2018 after the international supermodel decided to share what she had learned throughout her life, passing on tips and advises for everyone. In her introduction video, she says: ‘’You will get to see me as a real person’’. One of the model’s videos particularly sparked attention among social media: in fact, due to the current pandemic, Campbell filmed her trip back home where she is seen wearing a protective suit with respective glasses and gloves.

On the first episode, the 90s divas looked back at their past, moving the conversation from the effects of fame and their collaboration in George Michael’s music video ‘‘Freedom! ’90’’ to the evolution of the fashion industry. Campbell describes Crawford’s friendship as her ‘chosen family’, with Naomi even mentoring Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, in the modelling industry.

The second episode — streamed on Tuesday and now available on YouTube — saw Naomi interviewing another special guest: fashion designer Marc Jacobs. After celebrating the designer’s first anniversary with husband Char De Francesco, Campbell and Jacobs discussed how he started his career and how education in fashion needs to improve. Unlike the previous one, this livestream ended earlier due to technical problems, regardless of Naomi’s intervention. Jacobs and Campbell later reached out to their fans on Instagram.

The third livestream saw as a third guest American actress, Nicole Richie. The Simple Life co-star shared her memories with Naomi on the reality show, claiming how it helped her to build her career. However, Richie and Campbell also chatted on today’s standards in both modelling and acting, explaining that the system has deeply changed since the 90s and early 2000s.

Latest guest of the series was plus-size supermodel and TV presenter, Ashley Graham. Naomi wanted to know more about her and interviewed Graham on her experience in the modelling industry. The main topic of the discussion were labels in fashion, especially in regard to curvy models. As Ashley says: ‘as models, we are always categorised, but the [fashion] industry has changed so much’’. At this time, the next confirmed guest will be fashion designer and Valentino’s creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli,
