The sharp liner and dark lip combination is a classic for a reason. From Old Hollywood to modern red carpets this beauty look will remain timeless. Embracing this simple but staggering look on our feeds this week, celebrities from Amina Muaddi to Simone Ashley are blending the old-time make-up with modern trends like the Pamela Anderson lip for nostalgic and fun beauty.
Making the case for natural beauty artistry, celebs stripped it back to basics when it came to their base. Ditching the blush and opting for a subtle and dewy glow was the memo behind Bella Hadid and Cassie’s looks. To recreate these minimal but radiant looks, we’ve gathered all the elite beauty looks and products from our feed this week to inspire your springtime glow!
Bella Hadid
Embracing minimalism, Bella Hadid showed us how to adorn the ‘no make-up make-up’ look this week. Wearing tan eyeshadow and a glowy foundation, the star stripped it back to basics. Having recently admitted to Vogue that she prefers to only draw attention to one aspect of her look at a time, it’s clear the nails were taking the centre stage with this look. Contrasting her minimalist make-up with maximalist nails, the star’s extraterrestrial manicure brought ultra- long metallic nails to her Vogue US feat.
Rowi Singh
Our go-to influencer for adventurous and bright make-up, Rowi Singh, lived up to her reputation this week by wearing an abstract liner look embellished with gems from her ownline ‘embellishbyrowi’. Using a graphic cream liner in a yellow hue to construct the flame-like eye look, the MUA showed us that despite Euphoria’s second season being behind us we’re not ready to leave the outlandish, sequin embellished looks in the past just yet.
Megan Thee Stallion
Sci-fi queen met Barbie glam in Megan Thee Stallion’s latest Instagram post. Matching her make-up with a futuristic Diesel dress, the star’s shimmering pink eye-shadow and glossy lips juxtaposed her coffin-shaped nails that featured in a neon green hue, making for her most extra-terrestrial look to date.
Amina Muaddi
Letting her smouldering purple lips do all the talking, designer Amina Muaddi’s MUA ‘Mr Daniel’ took cues from Old Hollywood to create a simple liner and lip combo that complimented the business owner’s vintage sleeked hair. We thought we’d left the dark lip look in the 2010s, but Muaddi is making a strong case for its return.
Kardi B
With inventive red hair that mimicked a bandana print, Cardi B took inspiration from biker styles for a punk hair and make-up look this week. The star’s ultra-long lashes and glossy lips by Erika La’ Pearl blended modern and 90s make-up features for a Cardi-approved outlandish look.
Simone Ashley
To celebrate the launch of Pat McGrath’s Bridgerton inspired beauty collection, the MUA took the opportunity to show off the potential of her new drop on Bridgerton’s own Simone Ashley. For the premiere of Bridgerton’s second season, Ashley wore shades from McGrath’s Bronze Seduction Palette to create a smouldering dark eye-lid look. The burgundy shadow was complemented with a glowing complexion and a deep matte lip. While the look differed from the dainty pink eyeshadows we have seen on the show, we love to see the cast embrace their sultry side on the red carpet.
Cassandra
As the face of Patrick Ta’s ‘Major Dimensions II’ Collection, singer Cassie wore the ultimate soft glam in the MUA’s recent Instagram ad. Demonstrating one of the subtler ways to wear Ta’s new rose-toned collection, the star posed with a sleek and smooth glossy lip that matched the exaggerated rose she posed next to. Meanwhile, Cassie’s eyes were draped in the matte shades of Ta’s rose-hued palette and finished with an ultra-sharp eyeliner.
Iamddb
Taking cues from the currently trending Pamela Anderson make-up that Tiktok has been going wild for lately, British rapper IAMDDB stepped out in London wearing brown lip liner and light brows that made for a killer nostalgic 90s look. The star softly framed her eyes with a cream cut crease and opted for a dewy bronzed contour on her base.
