With the future of many events seeming uncertain, it brings us great joy to find that London Fashion Week is planning to go ahead with its 2022 seasonal events. Today, The British Fashion Council announced that LFW would return on the following 2022 dates; Friday 18th to Tuesday 22nd February, Saturday 11th to Monday 13th June and Friday 16th to Tuesday 20th September.
The most recent London Fashion Week was held as a physical-digital event, which received positive feedback. This schedule will continue to incorporate catwalk shows, presentations, appointments, and events throughout London, as well as digital content available at londonfashionweek.co.uk.
London Fashion Weeks’ digital platform has fast become a loved feature for fashion fans, with content staying on-site for a year-round basis. The platform will continue to be freely accessible to everyone; industry professionals and global fashion consumers alike, enabling collaboration and bringing together fashion, culture, and technology.
Noticeably, the January menswear London Fashion Week has been moved to join with the Fashion Week taking place in February. This decision was made at the end of last year, in light of the environment surrounding Covid-19 at the time, with challenges around the movement of goods, samples and people in the single market and customs union post-Brexit, and following surveys and roundtables with designers, as well as conversations with sales showrooms regarding selling periods. However, the BFC insists that it is still committed to supporting British menswear designer businesses, and they have confidence that this new schedule will offer the same helping hand to promoting their campaigns.
With the ongoing challenges being thrown at the fashion industry, it is inspiring to see the British Fashion Council continue to defy any obstacles in the way of supporting and honouring designers, and we can’t wait to do the same when tuning in to next year’s London Fashion Weeks.
