The Secret Santa Hack

With Christmas lights practically going up in the middle of BBQ season, some would argue we get an unnecessarily long head start, which is an advantage when purchasing presents. I would have to disagree; no matter what the time constraints, the process of buying gifts never seems to get any easier.

It isn’t just the sheer volume of presents that have to be purchased, but trying to get everyone something they actually want is my main issue with the whole gift buying palaver. And then you have the more specified concerns thrown in such as what in the world you get that distant relative you haven’t seen since you were 5. And finally, there is the biggest conundrum of it all. Secret Santa. Now, it’s obviously all well and good in your little friendship group, I’m talking about it on a larger scale.

I’m talking about the annual dreaded moment when someone in the office has the genius idea to do a huge communal Secret Santa, and every man and his dog’s names are all piled into that god-forsaken hat. Of course, fate decides to place the name of your boss in your palm. The anxiety immediately pulses through your body as you imagine the look of indifference on her face disguised with that counterfeit overly gracious smile as she unwraps the depressingly average bath bomb and pack of Lint Lindor balls combo.

Well, this Christmas, you can tell that feeling of anxiety where to go because we feel it’s our duty to remind you of the divine entity that is going to be your saving grace next time you find yourself knee-deep in this sticky festive predicament; the on-screen holy bible of beauty trends, also known as YouTube. The plethora of reviews about any remotely beauty related product, from the mini facial quartz roller you never knew you needed to eyelash perming kits, and everything in-between – all tried and tested by the prophets, disciples and apostles of the beauty industry: the ‘YouTubers’.

As well as enlightening you with this handy little secret Santa hack, as our good deed for the day we have decided to make it EVEN easier for you and have sieved through endless reviews to find you the top five Secret Santa gift ideas recommended by the YouTubers that we know and trust (Ch-Ching, did somebody say pay rise?!).
