As summer continues, so does the sadness of cancellations. However, while we reminisce on what could have been, the hope of summer 2021 allows us to get excited about what is to come. Until that time comes, here are some songs from the lineups of August’s four biggest festivals, so you can have a socially distanced and safe alternative, for the time being.
Reading & Leeds
The Reading and Leeds lineup for this year would have been an eclectic mix, ranging from Bladee to Sleeping With Sirens to the reunited Rage Against The Machine and Liam Gallagher on the main stage. The twin festivals were supposed to take place on the 28th to the 30th of August, but will now be postponed until the same bank holiday weekend in 2021.

Boardmasters
This will be the second time in a row that Boardmasters has been canceled, after weather conditions last year were too bad for the Cornwall weekender to go ahead. The lineup this year included The Kooks, Dizzee Rascal, and Mura Masa with Skepta, Kings of Leon, and The 1975 headlining. The festival will be back at Newquay between the 11th and 15th of August 2021.

Boomtown Fair
Boomtown Fair ‘Chapter 12’ was cancelled in April and will return on the 11th to the 15th of August 2021. This year’s lineup would have included Wu-Tang Clan, The Libertines, Mura Masa along with underground artists from a diverse mix of genres – typical of the UK’s largest independent festival. The event was also supposed to feature a brand new multi-stage show with a theatrical circus and a 360-degree experience, but we’ll have to wait until next year to get the full details of the spectacular.

Creamfields
Tickets for Creamfields 2021 have already started selling as names are being added to the lineup. The EDM festival would have been from the 27th to 30th of August this year and would have featured artists such as Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers, Example and Deadmou5.

These are our playlists and the official playlists for what the weekenders could have been – minus the achy legs, wet clothes, and unhygienic loos.
